When we stop thinking about SEO in terms of its technical aspects, and instead see it as a form of communicating and interacting, it becomes both easier to understand, and perhaps more importantly we can start to slot it in with the rest of our business plans.
Almost everything we do in every aspect of our lives (including work!) is about the interplay between people. If we can find a way to see more of the processes we invest our energy and time in in those terms, then a cohesive model starts to emerge.
Here’s a blog post idea I think I’ll follow through with for my personal brand blog…SEO is about reinforcing. Reinforcing your messages, your values, who you are and what you do.

Top tip for personal brand sites (if they’re based around freelancing or finding work), stick the contents of your CV up as plain text. It’s SEO gold.

One of the people I made a personal brand for last year was Julie Smith, who runs meditation courses. She just had me overhaul the structure of her site.
So the design hasn’t changed (and had very little to do with me, sure I made it but the job was outsourced to me by a template-company) but the site map, information architecture etc. has been redone in key places.
